This is the second mosque we were doing in our office. First one taught us a lesson: you should not be too experimental while doing a mosque. There are some traditional elements that should be taken into account. This is why we made this a square on the ground  that changes into a circle top, like traditional mosques. It does have a modern twist of making this transition smooth, but it keeps traditional elements. It is a mix of old and new.

This was an international competition with hundreds of applications and we shared 1st price. I am particularly proud of this one, because Zaha Hadid also participated and did not get any prize. We have beat her.
